What Lucy Supports
Since 2013, Lucy has served as a spokesperson for UNICEF USA for young people with disabilities and since 2014, a global messenger and athlete for Special Olympics. She has passionately advocated for the nearly 240 million young people with disabilities around the world – and she loves doing it!!!

Lucy's Work
Helping Young People with Disabilities Around the World
Lucy Meyer has visited countries around the world including Jamaica, Brazil, Azerbaijan, Switzerland, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Kosovo. (More to come!) In these countries, programming from both Special Olympics and UNICEF gives children the opportunity to play together, participate in health screenings, and creates valuable health forums where families can come together and learn from each other.

Lucy’s visits to Capitol Hill keep acceptance and inclusion top of mind for government officials and other key decision makers.While in meetings, Lucy advocates for kids with and without disabilities, emphasizing the importance of acceptance and inclusion, not only for kids in the US, but all over the world.

Speaking to Schools
Lucy loves speaking to fellow kids in schools – spreading the message to students with and without disabilities. She often participates in PE classes, demonstrating how fun inclusive sports are for everyone, and has meaningful Q&A sessions that change hearts and minds about what it means to have a disability.
